On August 18, the summer multidisciplinary university "Russia-Africa" started at SFedU. Within the framework of this project, foreign students of the Southern Federal University undergo cultural, historical and educational programs.
At the moment, the participants went to Adygea to get acquainted with the development of eco-tourism in Russia. There are a number of unique places here, for example, one of the thirteen UNESCO natural Sites in Russia – the Biosphere Nature Reserve of the Caucasus, its northern part with the directorate in the village of Guzeripl. The students visited the aviary of the Caucasian Reserve, the museum-reserve, and also got acquainted with natural monuments: the Circassian Stone, the Granite Gorge of the Belaya River, the canyon of the Belaya River, the Khadjokh Gorge, the waterfalls of the Rufagbo River and the Dakh River within the Dakhovsky Reserve.

As noted by Olga Ivlieva, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Tourism, the choice of these places is due to the fact that they help foreign students to get acquainted with the historical and cultural features of the South, with its natural resources.
Students from eight African countries took part in the trip, and within the framework of the Summer Multidisciplinary University "Russia-Africa" they will prepare projects of ecological trails in protected natural territories of the countries from which they came.
