August 24 at the Park of culture and recreation named after Another IT-Run took place in Taganrog. The initiative has been implemented by the Institute of Computer Technology and Information Security of the SFedU since 2018.
This time the race gathered more than 300 people and was held within the framework of the All-Russian Youth Forum of IT Technologies "FEATURE", which is held with the support of Rosmolodezh. Grants".
Before the start for athletes at the Taganrog Tram art space, Lyudmila Matua held a "Mrs. Planet 2015" exercise, after which all athletes went to the beginning of the race. Two routes were prepared for them: 2.2 km and 4.4 km.
"The wish to all participants is simple – to enjoy the race in this beautiful summer weather. I'm not preparing for IT-Run in a special way, because running, playing sports is a way of life for me. I invite everyone to join our runs every Sunday. Traditionally, we start at 7 a.m. from the building "A" of ITA SFU, and if someone is away, we run on our own, and then we share a digital trail about jogging," said Maxim Bondarev, Vice-rector for Project Activities at Southern Federal University.
"IT-Run is a good tradition for our university. On the eve of this event, Anton Kumov, Deputy director of the Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security, and I decided to stir up interest and launch a running challenge in social networks. Now we have a community at the university called the "Running Challenge of SFedU", it unites students, employees who run together and separately, and then send information to a general chat.
Today we are also presenting our form. We hope that as many people as possible will join the community over time, because the slots were sorted out very quickly on the IT-Run. There really is a special atmosphere here, and the highlight is that there are sections of the distance with both asphalt and gravel pavement. This is an easy trail, even in Rostov there are few such trails," added Yakov Aslanov, Vice–rector for Educational Work and implementation of youth programs at SFedU.
For five years, thanks to the IT-Run, it was possible to attract more than 600,000 rubles to the SFedU Endowment Fund. The proceeds go to grants, scholarships, and support for young scientists who are engaged in the development of IT projects.
At the end of the race, all participants received not only a boost of energy and good mood, but also unique commemorative medals.
