Skits, quiz and sweet victory: how the academic evening in German "Bekannte deutsche Persönlichkeiten" was held at SFedU

11.04.2025

On April 9, an academic evening of the Department of German Philology, a competition of theatrical productions in German, was held in the cinema hall of the Public Library with the support of the Trade Union Committee of the SFedU Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication, bringing together students of all courses, as well as students studying German in other departments of the SFedU.

The participants presented short skits about significant historical figures of Germany and Austria, while the entire event was held entirely in German, which was not only a challenge, but also a real celebration for connoisseurs and lovers of German culture.

The skits varied by genre, from ironic sketches to almost dramatic mini-plays. Franz Kafka, Johannes Gutenberg and others came to life on stage with an emotional game. The students wrote the texts themselves, selected costumes and props, demonstrating not only language literacy, but also creativity.

After the skits, a quiz was held in German, which included questions about famous German personalities and their contribution to world science and culture. This allowed all the participants, both those who spoke and those who came to the hall, to get involved in the process and test their knowledge.

At the end of the evening, the jury summed up the results of the competition. Each team received certificates. The winners were 1st-year students of the Foreign Philology department, the 2nd and 3rd places were taken by 3rd-year students of the Linguistics department and students studying German as a foreign language in other departments of the SFedU, respectively. In addition to the diplomas, the winners and prize-winners received sweet prizes. In addition, the audience also had the opportunity to choose the best production, in their opinion. The decision of the audience coincided with the opinion of the jury and the audience award was given to the winners of the competition, the 1st year group of the direction "Foreign Philology".

The audience did not hide their emotions.

This event was another confirmation that learning a language can be a creative, vibrant and inspiring process.
