On April 18, the SFedU Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication hosted the event "China Quest: a quiz exploring the world of Chinese language and culture." Teams from SFedU, DSTU and RSUE competed among themselves for the title of the winner.
The intellectual game consisted of three rounds and a blitz survey. In each of them, participants could choose tasks from different categories: "Phonetic warm-up", "Counting words", "Tongue twisters", "Traditional cuisine", "Myths and Facts", "Sights" and others.
For each correct answer, students received from 100 to 500 points, depending on the complexity of the question. If none of the players could answer, the right to earn points for the team of their university passed to the audience in the hall.
According to the results of the first round, the leader was the team from SFedU, which scored 1,400 points. Students from DSTU received 700 points, from RSUE — 400.
At the beginning of the second round, SFedU and DSTU equalized the score, but by the end, participants from DSTU gained the advantage — 4250 points. Players from SFedU and RSUE earned 3,450 and 1,000 points, respectively.
The third round and the blitz poll turned out to be the most intense stages of the game. Despite the fact that DSTU remained the undisputed leader, SFedU took the initiative and won with a score of 8,550 points. DSTU received 7050, RSUE — 5100.
"It's great that the guys got to know each other. All the universities have come together to study and repeat the material, to communicate," commented Kristina Maltseva, a Chinese language teacher.
