The MIHE Advanced School held an educational shift in Taimasi

13.05.2025

The School of Metadisciplinary Integral Humanitarian Education (MIHE) held the May holidays at the practice and sports and wellness tourism of the Taimasi SFedU.

The shift "Human ecology as a meta-disciplinary problem" included a rich sports and educational program.

This is not the first time that the issue of environmental awareness in an interdisciplinary dimension has been raised in MIHE. The project traces its history back to 2006. After a break of six years, a new program based on many years of experience was launched in November 2024. As a result, 50 people received professional retraining diplomas. MIHE continues to evolve.

This spring, the MIHE Advanced School proposed a new format - an educational shift in the mountains of North Ossetia, dedicated to the ecosystem approach in science and public consciousness. Together with teachers from two departments of SFedU: the Institute of History and International Relations and the Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication, the program was mastered by both students who had already completed the course in 2024, and neophytes, among whom a significant part were students of technical fields.

The venue of the program did not leave anyone indifferent: mountain ranges, natural landscapes, clear skies and unusual plants accompanied the participants. Every day there is a new hike, teachers and students visited the Galdoridon waterfall, the Lion's Head waterfall, the Three Sisters waterfall, the ancient city of Galiat and the Karaug gorge. The natural environment has become a harmonious backdrop for discussing ecology in a metadisciplinarity dimension.

After the hiking routes to the mountains, it was time for the educational part. The program was taught by SFedU Institute of History and Intercultural Communication specialists, Candidate of Historical Sciences Andrey Korenevsky, Candidate of Historical Sciences Natalia Nikolaeva, senior lecturer Ilya Nikolaev and eco-activist, master's student of SFedU Egor Zhizhko.

Andrey Korenevsky gave lectures on the origin of ecology and its place in the system of scientific knowledge, the topic of historical ecology was proposed for discussion, as well as the hypothesis of the dependence of the historical process on natural phenomena. Natalia Nikolaeva filled the lecture program with a sense of beauty, revealing the natural origins of aesthetic norms of human society in different historical eras. Yegor Zhizhko's lecture discussed the relationship between ecological and anthropocentric approaches in the intellectual history of mankind. And Ilya Nikolaev suggested doubting that anthropocentrism, declared by public opinion, really leads to the value of a person. Among other things, this small educational trip was filled with seminars, group work of students during hiking trips, individual and collective reflection, exciting walks, cozy evenings and a friendly atmosphere.
