The festival The floor is yours, freshman - 2025" was held at the Student Club for the 15th time. This event, which is expected by all students, helps young people to test themselves in different types of art and develop their creative potential.

The festival was held in two stages: On October 11, the student teams of Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security and Institute of Radio Engineering Systems and Control presented the productions "Tear of the Moon" and "Rio", and on October 18, Institute of Nanotechnologies, Electronics  and Equipment Engineering and Institute of Management in Economic, Ecological and Social Systems showed the stage programs "Glory to Water" and "Toy Story".
The gala concert was a bright end to the festival. First-year students from four institutes of the Academy for Engineering and Technologies of the Southern Federal University presented the most striking episodes of their concert programs. Each theatrical, musical, and choreographic number evoked a flurry of emotions and applause from the guests of the evening. Support groups periodically loudly chanted the names of their alma maters.

After the end of the concert program, the heads and representatives of the directorates of four SFedU Academy for Engineering and Technologies institutes took the stage: Gennady Veselov, Director of the Institute of Computer Technology and Information Security, Igor Zhityaev, Associate Professor of the Institute of Nanotechnology, Electronics and Instrumentation, Timur Patsyuk, Deputy Director of the Institute of Radio Engineering Systems and Management, Elena Zashchitina, Deputy Director of the Institute of Management in Economic, Environmental and Social Systems. All the speakers thanked the guys for their positive attitude, talented acting and unforgettable impressions that the amateur actors gave to the audience.
The culmination of the event was the announcement by the head of the Student Club, Alexander Ashikhmin, of the results of the festival in individual nominations and the team competition. Diplomas of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degrees were awarded to: musical, dance, theater, original genre, videography, entertainer, and set design.

In the team competition, the places were distributed as follows:

3rd place –     Institute of Nanotechnologies, Electronics and Equipment Engineering,

2nd place –     Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security,

1st place –       Institute of Radio Engineering Systems and Control.

Also, according to tradition, the previous holders of the titles of "Miss and Mr. Freshman" handed over their awards to the newcomers. This year's winners were Kristina Melantyeva and Kirill Mikhailenko.

In 55 days, about 100 first-year students have gone from insecure beginners to aspiring artists.

 "There were a lot of young directors at this festival with their own new interesting vision, unexpected directorial decisions. I can say that they are all doing well. There are never any questions for first–year students - their main task is to get high at this festival, just to understand what a student club is and then go to more serious concerts.

This year, there were freshmen from different institutes who were very surprised by their charisma. If they continue their development, they will be able to achieve great success in their work. I will be very glad if such guys remain in the student club," said Tatiana Penkova, a graduate of the SFedU Institute of Fine Arts and a member of the jury of the Script and Directing department.

The high level of the festival participants was noted not only by experts, but also by students of the Academy for Engineering and Technologies, who watched all the performances of the first-year students.

"I participated in the festival myself last year, and today I can say that the level of performances has increased significantly. Everyone tried very hard. I wish the guys that the creative spark never fades!", – Maria Ignatenko, a 2nd-year student of the Institute of Management in Economic, Ecological and Social Systems, shared her impressions.
