On November 14, an educational quest tour "Sherlock in SFedU: Investigation at the Criminology training Ground" was held at the criminology training ground of the Southern Federal University, developed as part of a project to develop popular science tourism and creative design of children's and youth programs, as well as the implementation of the federal program "Ministry Training".
.The event, aimed at students of secondary schools, is an interdisciplinary immersive program. During the tour, the students immersed themselves in the atmosphere of detective investigation, acting as young investigators under the guidance of actors playing the roles of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.
The practical part of the event was provided by the SFedU Faculty of Law - Nelly Falshina, Deputy Dean for Social and Educational Work, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law. The master class on the basics of criminalistic research was conducted by Elena Frolova, Deputy Dean for Informatization, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics, which gave the program scientific and methodological depth and relevance.

A special feature of the format was the use of the "linguistic-media excursions" technology, proposed as part of the research of the Institute of Tourism, Service and Creative Industries of the Southern Federal University. The language component was implemented through an interactive quiz in English, developed by 3rd-year students of the Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication under the guidance of Marina Morgunova, Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology, PhD.
The authors of the concept and scenario structure were 4th-year students of the Institute of Tourism, Service and Creative Industries — Elizaveta Gerish, Milena Bozhenkina and Juliana Desenkho under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism, PhD Ksenia Kushnir.
The project has become an example of an interinstitutional collaboration that brings together experts in the fields of law, tourism and English philology.
During the one-and-a-half-hour program, the participants:
conducted an inspection of the conditional accident sites (garage, apartment, office);
Forensic diagnostic methods were used to collect and record physical evidence;
Fingerprints, shoe marks, and other tracological evidence were examined;
The stages of analyzing the collected data and building logical chains to establish the circumstances of the crime were completed.
