
On July 10, 2025, an expanded meeting of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education was held under the chairmanship of Sergey Kabyshev with the participation of all relevant expert councils.
During the meeting, the results of the past academic year were summed up, the results of the work of the Committee and expert councils were reviewed, issues of concern to the academic community were discussed, and key areas of the strategy for the development of science and higher education in the country were identified.
The participants paid special attention to the role of expert councils as an effective platform for professional discussion and preparation of proposals for solving strategic tasks facing universities and scientific organizations in Russia.
Southern Federal University plays an active role in this work: Marina Borovskaya, President of SFedU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, heads the Expert Council of the State Duma Committee on Management in the Field of Higher Education. This council has become a significant professional platform where proposals are being developed to improve the management system in the field of science and education.
The coordinator of the work of the Expert Council is Alexander Mazhuga, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, which ensures effective communication between the expert community and the legislature.
Southern Federal University will continue to actively participate in the formation and implementation of initiatives aimed at developing the system of higher education and science, strengthening the position of Russian education at the international level and training personnel to solve the large-scale tasks facing the country.
