Artyom's work "Vasily Chokheli about GMO in simple words" took first place in the nomination "Professionals." Artem Demyanovskikh is a specialist at the Center for Public Communications of the Southern Federal University, a member of the Union of Journalists of Russia, a photographer and videographer. He calls his passion for science and photography not just a hobby, but the meaning of life. According to the winner, the popularization of science is a very important and socially significant process that allows you to discover an interesting and immense world of science for every person.

The video is dedicated to GMOs - an abbreviation that is familiar to everyone. The video participants talked about the advantages of genetically modified organisms, turning off genes and fear of GMOs and, most importantly, explained why GMOs are not always scary; which popular root crop can contain the scorpion gene, how wheat and locusts can be linked, and what surprises a DNA test of vegetables and fruits can bring. Vasily Chokheli, a leading engineer of the Botanical Garden of the Southern Federal University, candidate of biological sciences, spoke about this and another in the video. The staff of the laboratory of cellular and genomic plant technologies of SFedU, which he manages, is engaged in microclonal reproduction of the Red Book flora. The genetic material of plants that scientists are investigating will never disappear from wildlife.
