
The meeting dedicated to the common interests of the two countries in the field of education, culture and science was held at the Cultural Bureau of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Marina Borovskaya, President of the Southern Federal University, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Universities in the South of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Mohamed Elserghani, Attache for Education and Culture at the Egyptian Embassy in the Russian Federation, Director of the Cultural Bureau, discussed the interaction of public and private structures using the example of Cairo University, where the vast majority of students study Russian.
Marina Borovskaya stressed the importance of academic exchanges, scientific and educational cooperation, youth initiatives and student exchanges, as well as the expansion of educational practices between Egypt and Russia. During the conversation, the SFedU's successes were noted, as well as preparations for the 110th anniversary of the university, which will be held in October 2025.
Attache at the Egyptian Embassy informed that 11 Russian language departments have already been opened in the Arab Republic of Egypt at Egyptian universities, and Russian universities are helping to provide these departments with the necessary textbooks, books, newspapers and magazines in Russian, as well as sending exchange teachers.
During the conversation, the parties came to the conclusion that the next stage of international integration should be the opening of Russian-language schools in Egypt and expressed their readiness for further cooperation in the field of education, science and culture.
