You can't lay down your fate without a struggle: The Spring 2025 of the SFedU Faculty of Physics

07.04.2025

On April 3, the concert "Hercules" of the SFedU Faculty of Physics was held at the Rostov-on-Don Regional House of Folk Art.

The American fantasy cartoon "Hercules" has received a new interpretation at the Studio.

The production immerses into the world of ancient Greek myths, where Zeus, Alcmene, Hades, Hercules and other representatives of the ancient epic act.

The supreme god of death and ruler of the underground kingdom of the dead, Hades, intends to capture the abode of the gods, Mount Olympus, by gathering an army of monsters. The only one who can stop him is the son of Zeus, young Hercules.

According to a myth from the Disney universe, the villain's minions kidnap a baby and use a magic potion to turn him into a mere mortal. Many years later, the young man learns from his adoptive parents about his divine origin and sets out to return home, but for this Hercules will have to perform many feats and become a real hero.

An important character in the production is Meg, a beautiful and daring assistant to the gloomy Hades, who initially helps him get rid of Hercules, but eventually falls in love with the young hero.

The satyr Phil plays a significant role in the development of the action. He acts as an experienced mentor to Hercules, who cares about his well-being and tries to give wise advice.

On the stage of ODNT, the concert participants were able to create an atmosphere of antiquity, filled with the exploits of heroes and the deeds of the gods. Bright vocal and choreographic performances, modern animation, and an original shadow theater show added entertainment and mystery to the production.

The story tells the audience that true heroism is manifested in the strength of the spirit, only noble deeds give true greatness, and the power of sincere love is stronger than death.

The full recording of the concert can be viewed on the website of the Department of Culture and Creativity of the SFedU in the Vk group.
